Our Story

In Persian kitchens, saffron’s vivid threads are prized for their bright fragrance and color. Delicate yet powerful, luxurious yet essential — and they became the inspiration for our name.

I grew up here, in the US, in a house where rosewater and saffron shared the table with chocolate chip cookies and Saturday morning pancakes. My mother’s Persian cooking carried fragrance and poetry; my father’s familiar American favorites carried ease and comfort. Together, they became my earliest understanding of flavor. What emerged was not one tradition or the other, but something made in the space between.

Golden Thread Bakery is born from that in-between place. Our menu reimagines familiar American favorites — cookies, cheesecakes, coffee cakes, and more — through a Persian lens, layered with cardamom, rose, saffron, and other Middle-Eastern flavors. Each bake is nostalgic but transformed, comforting yet a little surprising.

And so the saffron thread comes full circle. It is the thread that ties two cultures together in one kitchen, weaving memory into invention and difference into harmony. Every bake is stitched with love, carrying both where I come from and what I hope to share.
